AIMING FOR SUCCESS—day in and day out
Quality management. 365 days per year.
Heart J Outfitters keeps a close eye on it’s property and the wildlife around it. Our property is primarily agricultural–which attracts a great number of deer trying to survive. Outfitting helps our property greatly because our herd can do quite a bit of impact on our crop every year and by managing our deer herd, our crops can grow as effectively as possible–just like our whitetails.
We grow alfalfa, corn, oats, peas, soybeans and cover crops on our agricultural fields, all of which are separated by heavily wooded poplar and cottonwood tree groves, sandhills, shelter belts, native ranch lands, and a small amount of CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) land, which helps keep the land in it’s natural, undeveloped state.
We have developed a management program to help our deer develop to their full potential by using our land to our advantage.
Nutrition is a very high priority that has been achieved by the crops we’ve grown, strategic food plots, and agricultural fields that are rotated annually. This strictly followed routine keeps your trophy in the best health to achieve maximum potential. Our focus on nutrition has allowed us to pull in and hold a large, healthy whitetail deer herd from the nearby Mouse River day after day, year after year.
In addition to nutrition, we have areas that we leave untouched throughout the year and season that our whitetails use as bedding areas and shelter. By knowing these areas well, we can minimize pressure on the herd and have a strategy for your hunt over feeding areas and travel routes.
Of course the big-racked bucks are the target on everyone’s list, we do have incentives for our clients that can benefit both parties. At Heart J Outfitters, we offer a unique Doe Management Program that helps keep our doe-to-buck ratio in check and is beneficial to your wallet. To find out more, click here.
